The main principles guiding Vega's Nutritional Shake revolve around a raw, whole food, alkaline, and plant-based diet. The shake was created by professional Ironman athlete Brendan Brazier, who, after finding it difficult to locate a convenient, all-in-one supplement that was free of dairy, gluten and soy, without added sugar, artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners, decided to formulate his own. The Nutritional Shake's formulation was created to be a nutrient-supplementing addition to your favorite smoothie recipe, or even a glass juice or water. Vega spent considerable time listening to athletes and gathering feedback regarding nutritional supplement consumption, which contributed to its 'one-a-day' serving approach. This means that with one scoop of Vega's Nutritional Shake formula each day, you maximize the nutritional density of your shake or drink in a single serving. The Vega Nutritional Shake helps you cover your key nutrient bases by providing 50 percent of your daily intake of vitamins and minerals. It contains 15g of protein, which is derived from pea protein, SaviSeed (sacha inchi) protein, hemp seed protein, and sprouted whole grain brown rice protein. The shake also contains 24 percent of your recommended daily intake of fiber, provided through its 6g of fiber per serving. This is primarily sourced from flax, inulin (fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS)), and pea. The shake also boasts 1. 5g of Omega-3 per scoop, which Vega sources from white chia, whole flax seed, and hemp. Vega equally focused its attention on the antioxidant, green, and probiotic departments with its new shake formulation.
